After months of planning, the hard work of the team has paid off. TEDxBrixton was a complete success! The team could not have wished for a better event and attendee response. The day kicked off with glorious sunshine and a Steel Band welcome. The speakers shone through with their wisdom and messages on the theme of ‘transformation’. Attendees sat in the sun during the breaks and enjoyed the typical Brixton lunch of Jerk Chicken and Rice. There were laughs, cheers and plenty of ‘AHA’ moments which kept everyone inspired and entertained throughout. Attendees mingled, shared ideas and networked in the spirit of TEDx – which was wonderful and emotional to see.

TEDxBrixton was important for so many reasons: first, TEDxBrixton’s local resident discounted tickets brought the event to a wider audience. Second, the predominately female team brought an empowered event to enthusiastic attendees. Third, the list of speakers captured the spirit of Brixton – diverse, inspired, multicultural, worldly and captivating.
